Editor’s Note

As Christmas fast approaches, and the country faces its toughest measures against Covid since the virus hit our shores at the beginning of the year, it’s time to reflect on 2020. It’s not been the best, has it? I would say if the Doctor were to pick a year to travel to Earth, this would be one to avoid. I think even aliens in general would avoid our planet till we were at the very least, less infectious.

We’ve lost a lot of people. Loved ones. Celebrities and otherwise. To the virus and to old age and poor health. It makes you want to just crawl back under the covers and hibernate till 2021.

It’s not all been doom and gloom though and we did at least see Captain Jack Harkness in an episode of Doctor Who earlier this year, and very shortly will see him again at the beginning of January, and I for one, cannot wait.

There has been a good selection of programmes to watch on the streaming channels this year, from a return of The Crown, to BBC 1 showing on a Sunday evening of His Dark Materials, which I’ve found to be very entertaining indeed. Eve Myles returned to her role as Faith Howells for her final instalment of Keeping Faith/Un Bore Mercher, of which I need to remember to catch up on, during the festivities.

2020 has indeed been a mixed bag of emotions, and I for one, sincerely hope that we will see an end to this virus after the vaccine has been dispensed. Could be a while before that happens but at least we all have some kind of hope for the future.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who contributed to this month's Issue, from my team, to the cast of Who and Torchwood who gave their time to comment on what has to be their favourite Comfort Foods. I was salivating at the end of the article. Got some good ideas for meals this week!!!

We will be back on 5th February 2021, with a bumper edition and hope you will all join us. As you may be aware, we’re looking for writers for our 2021 Editions and beyond. If you fancy writing reviews for us, or even fans fiction. Do please get in touch over on our Social media sites, on Facebook and Twitter. Links are on our Contact Page.

Happy Holidays. Stay Safe. See you in the New Year.

Welcome to Issue 87: WATNOW: The Gathering
