Editor’s Note

I don’t think there’s ever been a time where we’re not all dashing about making sure that we have everything ready for the launch of another Issue.  We’re always writing something, be it fictional or factual and every episode holds more than just a breakdown. Quite often there might be a passage from a book, a poem, a phrase, something that requires a little bit of research.  Take this month for example, not only do we have an episode about the wonderful Toshiko Sato, who in her words is ‘shagging a woman in an alien’ but also we have the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and the research of the Greek archer Philoctetes, both interesting in their own way.

This month has been fantastic. Who can forget November 23rd a night to remember for all Whovians and newcomers to the Whoniverse.  What a spectacular build up, and many of us, including myself are still coming down from it.  It was like Christmas come early, with so many treats it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed by it all.  There was absolutely no part of the celebration, the lead up to it with ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ by Mark Gatiss, the minisode ‘Night of the Doctor’ or the Anniversary Special ‘Day of the Doctor’ that I could fault, we had the homage paid to Torchwood, we saw all the Doctors including Peter Capaldi’s version in the war room of the Time Lords and saw the best use of CGI and Special FX in ever such a long time.

We were also treated to a special 30 minute docu spoof called The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot and were treated to something brilliant and from the pen of Peter Davison.  What I also liked about this, was that we discovered in what capacity John Barrowman was appearing in the 50th Celebrations.  He always said he was doing something and I’m so glad there were no spoilers and he maintained a tight lip.

Absolutely fantastic!

We have another new Who writer onboard, which means we now have three writers from The Cult Den writing for us, and I call that an honour.  These three guys are absolutely fantastic as is their website, please give them a follow on Twitter and Facebook.
Jeffrey covers our reviews of Who episodes, from the Specials, the Minisodes and the Episodes of the new series in 2014.  Check out his reviews on The Mothership Page.
We’ve also updated our About Us Page, be sure to visit there before you leave.
