Articles Where Are They Now MD: Rendition Cast? By DJ Forrest

“Oh hey, listen. I'm sorry. Maybe I didn't explain it earlier. I don't think you actually know anything. I mean, come on, look at you two. You're not that bright. What you are is connected. And someone has made a link between that old Institute of yours and the Miracle. And now they want to kill you for it. So, we work out what the connection is, and then we start to solve it.”  Rex Matheson

Rendition saw our Torchwood team comprising of Gwen and Jack, arrested by the CIA, handcuffed and taken onboard a plane heading for the United States of America.

Onboard the plane with them however, was Special Agent Peterfield who had her own agenda, and Jack, now mortal, stood a good chance of not making it to America, alive!

Oswald Danes, now out of prison, was a free man, and firing up the media with talk show appearances. But were those crocodile tears he displayed during his first interview??? Whatever it was, it seemed that every talk show host wanted a piece of him on their sofas. Jilly Kitzinger was going to have to try harder to win him over, and earn him some decent money.

At City Hall, meetings were taking place, with medical physicians, trying to come up with a way of dealing with this new phenomenon, where nobody died but their conditions and their ages, still occurred and severed limbs continued to move long after amputation. Just how do you deal with something like that?

Please note: Because this series was filmed in the US of A, there are a lot of actors I’m not familiar with – especially tv actors who play newsreaders, but who may actually be part of the circuit of news readers in the States. Also a lot of tv actors who are familiar with those living in the US are not familiar with me, so I don’t recognise half of the cast I’m researching, and Google is most certainly not my friend!!!

One of the problems I’m also facing is the character name often doesn’t appear in the transcripts, so it’s again difficult to place who that actor is in terms of his character. I know google images helps out from time to time, but for the episode, less so. So if I’ve mis-labelled a character actor, and you know who he or indeed she is, do please let me know as I’ll be very grateful.

Thank you!

Lauren Ambrose

‘Jilly Kitzinger’

“Now I wish I could stay. I'm needed in Washington. But you hold onto my card, sir, because there's a reason the churches are empty. People don't want to hear about heaven. They'd rather hear from a man who has gazed into hell itself, and that's you. And frankly I think if the Devil himself were to walk this Earth, he'd need representation.”

Jilly worked for Phicorp as PR, and could see a story opening up in any of the people she had met. Even Oswald Danes – if he would just accept her card and allow her to represent him. She also gave her card to Vera Juarez after the meeting at City Hall amongst many other medical staff, discussing where to go now, with the Miracle, and the over clogged hospitals.

Jilly eventually found herself popular with The Three Families and her PR work finally led her to the pit in old Shanghai. You can’t help but like her though. Her gutsy approach to life and her strong opinions, and her striking dress sense. This lady would go far and would always get herself out of the gutter.

Since Torchwood, Ambrose has played characters for Weekends at Bellevue in 2011, Sleepwalk with Me and Wanderlust in 2012, including a two-part role in Coma in the same year. Played Vanessa Mayer in Law & Order in 2013 for two episodes, and played Debbie Morgan in 2015 television series Dig.

Played Agent Einstein for 3 episodes of The X Files between 2016 – 2018 and played Dorothy Turner for 10 episodes of Servant between 2019 – 2020, and has just completed Tonight at Noon playing Mae.

Dichen Lachman

‘Agent Lyn Peterfield’

[To Gwen] “Yeah? What are you gonna do about it? If you're the best England's got to offer, then God help you.”

Agent Lyn Peterfield worked for the Families, as well as being a CIA agent. Her job was to kill Jack Harkness, that way, the Miracle would remain and nobody would be able to shut it down. She hadn’t figured on Torchwood being so resilient however.

Since Torchwood, Lachman has played Suren for 7 episodes of Being Human in 2012, played #Pillow Girl for 2 episodes of Husbands in the same year. Played Tani Tumrenjack for 13 episodes of Last Resort from 2012 – 2013. Played Jessica Lowell in one episode of CSI in 2013, and Benny for 7 episodes of King & Maxwell in the same year. Lachman played Anya for 7 episodes of The 100 (which means I’m going to have to check this out, as was one of those programmes I ummed and ahhed about for ages). Played Angela in the US version of Shameless for 6 episodes and Jiaying for 9 episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which is another series I didn’t watch many episodes of. In The Last Ship, played Jesse for 8 episodes in 2016. Played Veronica Sinclair and Roulette in Supergirl, the television series from 2016 – 2017, and played Frankie for Animal Kingdom from 2018 – 2019. In Altered Carbon from 2018 – 2020, played Reileen Kawahara for 12 episodes.

Plays Stern in Bad Therapy in 2020 and is currently filming Jurassic World 3 which should, be ready for 2021, but at this rate, with the virus lingering, could be any time beyond that date.

Wayne Knight

‘Brian Friedkin’

“I, I, I don't know who they are. I never did. They just, they just paid me over the years. They've been there for decades and I can't, couldn't stop them. I mean, it's too late. Look, they've, they've only ever contacted me on one telephone number.” [Dead of Night episode]

Friedkin was a corrupt head of CIA investigations. He was working for the Three Families. He didn’t know who they were but they were most certainly pulling his strings. In a high up enough position to not draw attention to himself, he instigated the attempted murder of Captain Jack Harkness by sending Agent Lyn Peterfield to poison him. After learning that Esther Drummond was also working the Torchwood case, set about to discredit her, along with Rex Matheson.

By End of the Road, his time was up and he knew it. It came as a big surprise to his fellow guests secured next to him in the jeep however, outside the Colasanto ranch.

To many, especially if you grew up watching dinosaur films would have recognised Knight as Dennis Nedry from Jurassic Park, first film. He also voiced his character for the video game of the same name back in 2011. Halley Feiffer

‘Lianna’

“Mister Danes? Sorry, Mister Danes. I just wanted to say I’m sorry for what I said before.”

Lianna worked behind the scenes at the television studio, where the talk show programme was broadcast. She watched with disgust as Oswald Danes crammed food into his pockets and ate like he’d never eaten before, while his guard looked on. She hoped he choked but after the interview she felt bad for what she’d said and offered her apology to him, which was greatly received by Danes, as he stepped into the lift.

Danny was one of the two airline workers who took care of Matheson and Co, during their flight to America. During numerous occasions when the assumptions by the passengers were that he batted for the other team arose, he denied it, but when Gwen questioned him after requiring his tie as a tourniquet for Jack, he confessed. “It was one time, okay?”
