Well I hope you have been enjoying this edition of Project: Torchwood so far. I hope you all had a good Xmas or whatever you celebrate and recovered from the vast amounts of alcohol taken, unlike some, I had to work all over the holidays. I won’t bore you with any writing about what the episode entails, as I know Jack will have already done that….
So lets jump right into our first location.
Ramons, 64 Salisbury Road, Cathays, Cardiff CF24 4AD
This location is used when Gwen visited a cafe. Ramons is a beautiful place with beautiful food and has been rated in the Top 5 breakfasts for Cardiff. The meals won’t burn a hole in your wallet and all I can say is that a Ramons breakfast is the best hangover cure around. Ramons is situated within the student quarter of Cardiff known as Cathays.
How to get to Ramons:
Walking
Start at Cardiff Central Bus Station
Turn Right at Wood Street walk along until you get to the bottom of Westgate Street
Turn Left onto Westgate Street and walk to the top
Turn Right onto Castle Street and walk along and follow the road round and walk up North Road
Turn right onto Boulevard De Nantes and take a Slight left toward Plas y Parc
Walk towards and through the Park and cross the road and walk along St Andrew’s Place.
Keep walking along and you will come onto Salisbury’s Road
Walk up Salisburys Road and Ramons is on your left hand side
La Tasca Restaurant, Unit 6, The Old Brewery Quarter, Cardiff, CF10 1FG
This location is used for when Gwen takes Linda out for a drink. La Tasca offers fantastic Spanish food and is situated in a prime location.
How to get to La Tasca:
Walking
Start at Cardiff Central Nus Station
Turn Right onto Wood Street and walk along until you get to the Prince of Wales Pub
You will see the Brewery Quarter across from you and La Tasca is inside
National Museum of Wales, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NP
This location was used to actually show the Science and Natural History Museum in Aberystwyth which Gwen and Eugene visited. This was filmed in the main concourse area of Cardiff Museum.
How to get to the Museum of Wales
Walking
Start at Cardiff Central Bus Station
Turn Right at Wood Street walk along until you get to the bottom of Westgate Street
Turn Left onto Westgate Street and walk to the top
Turn Right onto Castle Street and walk along and follow the road round and walk up North Road
Turn right onto Boulevard De Nantes and take a Slight left toward Plas y Parc
National Museum of Wales is to your left
Glyntaff Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Glyntaff, Pontypridd, CF37 4BE
This location was filmed in Glyntaff Cemetery and was used as the shots for Eugene’s funeral.
How to get to Glyntaff Cemetery:
Train & Walking
Catch any Train that goes to Trefforest from Platform 6 in Cardiff Central Railway Station (£4.20 single)
Get off at Trefforest Station
Walk along Forest Road
Turn right and cross over the River Taff
Turn left onto Cardiff Road and walk along
Follow the road and take the 2nd exit on the roundabout up onto Cemetery Road
Walk along Cemetery Road and the location is dead ahead.
Beechwood Drive, Penarth
This location is used as Eugene’s home.
How to get to Beechwood Drive:
Catch the Cardiff Bus Service number 92 from Cardiff Central Station and ask the driver to let you off at Beechwood Drive.
The street is an actual big street and we are not sure of the exact location. So happy hunting.
