Outlander starring Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser is a historical drama based on the Outlander novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. It was developed by Ronald D. Moore and begins its story in 1945 during the Second World War, when Claire Randall, a nurse is transported back to Scotland in the year 1743 and encounters Jamie Fraser, a dashing Highland warrior, and becomes involved in the Jacobite risings. Season 1 aired in 2014 with the fifth season closing on 10th May 2020. Not a series I’ve ever watched fully, I’m unsure if the series will continue to run, or if it’s reached its natural end.
After chatting with Scott Kyle last year for our Lockdown Specials, I began to look into the series cast list and was surprised at how many Who, Torchwood and especially Sarah Jane cast have been involved in the series. So naturally, I had to put together a Connections for it. It took a considerably long time; I can tell you.
So, we’ve done the research, so you don’t have to.
