Friedkin discovers only too quickly that pissing off a CIA agent by sending someone onto the plane to eliminate the only mortal being left on the planet was a big bad idea. Rex takes the phone that instructs Friedkin of who to 'remove' and leaves him with a 'slight' ringing in his ears. Hope he doesn't go deaf!!!

The new 'team' comprising of Jack, Gwen, Rex and Esther, hide out in a rundown building, but still have money for laptops and equipment thanks to Jack's old bank account that has been in operation since Queen Victoria's reign. Gwen also picks up a few food supplies, all that is left on the shelves are some flat lemonade and potato chips. Gwen sees a march of people wearing masks and picks up one on the way back. They call themselves the 'Soulless'.

Gwen gives the team all new mobile phones, and poor Esther is berated by Rex for adding her sister's number into it.

Through their investigations they get a lead on a disused Phicorp warehouse, inside they discover a warehouse inside a warehouse 'bigger on the inside' and find stocked almost floor to ceiling crates upon crates of painkillers. Someone knew about the Miracle a year before it happened.

With this kind of information, Rex needs the backing of the CIA and knows that his old boss and good friend, retired, will be able to help him. But shocked and hurt by his betrayal leaves his band of renegade misfits by the side of the road and drives off into the night and in need of further medication himself, into the arms of a surprised Vera Juarez.

Jack, decides to follow suit and leaves the girls to head off into a night club to feel alive, and meets Brad the barman who takes a shine to his greatcoat.

Gwen and Esther return to the hideout, where Gwen listens to Jack lamenting about their old life later on in the evening and how they don't need anyone else in their lives, when Esther gives Gwen a video link of Rhys holding Anwen and she puts her phone down to talk to her husband and baby.

Jack goes in search of Oswald Danes curious about him and what he might know regarding Harkness himself. There must be a reason Phicorp want him dead. Naturally, Oswald knows nothing but shows Jack some good old American hospitality and shows him the door, after a good thumping, that is.

The phone perks up while Rex and Esther are alone in the room. There's no answer when Rex answers it, but whoever it is, they're going to be on their tail from now on. Time to go!

Brad was the bartender at the Golden Gopher that Jack entered and who took offence at Jack wishing to remove a button from his great coat.

At the Phicorp meeting, invited by Jilly Kitzinger, Vera Juarez listens as Congressman Morganthall addresses the room from a video screen at the front of the meeting hall. He paints a picture of a brighter society with drugs for all, absolutely free and without prescription.

Carla is sat with her boyfriend at Mabel's Diner and notices Danes sitting across the room from them. Outside the Diner they confront him and when Danes heads off at a sprint, they give chase.

Since Torchwood, as an actress, Ames has played Eve in The Originals in 2014 for 6 episodes. Played Lavinia Webb for Quick Draw between 2013 - 2014. Played Barfly in Shameless in 2015, Maeve in 2 Broke Girls in the same year and Heloise in Aquarius the same. Played Sonia in Casual in 2016 and a Secret Service Agent in Scandal in 2017. Played Sara in Women...and Sometimes Men in 2017, and a Young Blonde woman in Sicario 2: Soldado in 2018.

From 2016 - 2019 voiced characters for a television series short called Apple & Onion, voicing Frency Fry, Kale Smoothie and Strawberry Twist along with Cotton Candy.

Was music coordinator for 10 episodes of Faking It in 2016. Music coordinator for 104 episodes of The Fosters from 2013 - 2018. Music Coordinator for TV Movie Hollyweed in 2018, alongside Can't Have You as music supervisor and I'll Be Next Door for Christmas.

Again a TV reporter for Pee-wee's Big Holiday in 2016. Played Pamela in Baby Danny in 2016 and Pundit #1 in American Horror Story in 2016.

Confronts Danes outside Mabel's Diner and again when Danes comes across two police officers.

Played the police officer who gave Danes a ride home in the police car, by way of a beating on the way.

Since Torchwood played Thor in Hollywood & Hammer short in 2012. Played Big Jim in Scottville in 2014, another short, and a Cop in Grand Zero in 2015, yet another film short. In 2015 he played John Loren in The Funeral Guest.

Mary Garripoli

'Woman Tourist'

"Did you see him in there? Did you see Oswald Danes? Did you touch to him? Oswald. Did you touch him?"

At the end of the episode, bends down to Jack who has just been thrown out of the WYBS and asks if he touched Oswald Danes. As Jack looks on past her, a television set is showing Danes being interviewed and his announcement to the world that 'the future is now endless' and terrifying and he wants people to take his hand and walk with him. Like a messiah!

Since Torchwood, Garripoli has played Jeannie in Parks and Recreations in 2011 for 1 episode. Played Mary and a Torch singer in 10 episodes of The Reel Housewives of Theatre West from 2010 - 2013. Played Mary in Kaplan's Korner in 2018 in the episode Open for Business.

It might also be interesting to know, that Garripoli is a life long activist and an actress, who has appeared in many productions both on television and Broadway, and Off-Broadway, National Tour, LA Theatre and also at Theatre West in Studio City, CA. She also writes for a blog Page called LA Progressive.

Ted Mattison

Since Torchwood, Medwin has played many singular roles who are mostly in uniform, from a Nazi in Ben and Burman in 2011, FBI agent in Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn in 2013, to Sgt Kelly in Shameless in 2014.

In Baskets in 2017 played a Processing Officer for 1 episode. Played a Townie Man for 1 episode of Making History also in 2017. Played Henry in Lethal Weapon, the series for 1 episode. and a Hydra Guard in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Played a Delivery Man in Jane the Virgin series in 2018. A Dad in Single Parents in the same year with Officer Kastoff in The Kominsky Method in 2019. In Hombre, currently in Post Production, is once again playing a Processing Officer.

Since Torchwood, Treitler has played a Camera Operator for True Blood in 2011, Fritta People in The Mentalist a year later. A Delivery Guy in Mike & Molly in 2013 and Bryce Baxter in Lost Angels in 2015. In 2019 played a Man for The Kids Are Alright series.

Randa Walker

‘Candice Perlmutter’

A News Reporter from the White House, Washington, reporting back to George, a News Anchor at the studio News Desk.

Since Torchwood, has played a Hot Woman in Friends With Benefits in 2011. Wilma in The Mentalist. A newscaster in Don't Trust the B...in Apartment 23 in 2013 and Jada in Mouthpiece in 2016. Nothing after this.

Maurice Webster

'Cop'

"We've charged him with assault. Don't blame me. We're not even allowed to say attempted murder anymore, because murder's impossible. The whole system's breaking down."

Webster played the police officer in A&E who had arrested the husband of the woman lying strangled on a hospital gurney.

Played Detective Brock in The Big Bad City in the same year followed by the role of Chip in Grimm in 2015. In 2016 played a Bus Driver in Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life television series. He went on to play Deputy Thom in Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the same year. Played Jamie in Life in Pieces in 2017 and Charlie in This is Us in 2019 along with The Kominsky Method as a Workman in the same year. From 2015 - 2020 played Tipstaff and a Court Clerk for How to Get Away with Murder series. It's been announced that he will play Angel in The Resolve when that comes out.

Michelle Wong

At City General Hospital, this nurse informed Vera about her appointment at City Hall.

Since Torchwood, Wong has voiced and played some really interesting characters in both film, television and video games.  In 2013 was the voice of many different characters in Grand Theft Auto V game, before playing a Newscaster, for Dear White People in 2014. Still with the news reporter role, played Reporter #3, Cable Newscaster #2 and Field Reporter and On Scene Reporter for Scandal tv series from 2012 - 2014.

In Zombies Monsters Robots video game, was the voice of Lady Ping, Lady Wen and Madame Ke in 2014. A year later was the voice of Sister Mai - Far Harbour DLC, Rei Nakano - Far Harbour DLC for Fallout 4 video game.

Back to TV and played a Special Trials Unit Assistant for Guilt by Association in 2015 before returning to video game for Headlander as Female Citizen and Rebel 2 roles (voice). Voiced Dread Captain Tattersail and Starlys Strongbow for World of Warcraft video game in 2016, and Captain Mai Nguyen in Call of Duty: WWII game.

For television and films, played Jessica in Rizzoli & Isles for one episode in 2016 and was the voice of Yi's Mom in Abominable in 2019.

Currently in post production, Wong voices the character of Deborah in a film short called Deb.

 

David Youse

Youse was one of the doctors at City Hall in the room with Vera Juarez.

Since Torchwood, he's played Scott Davis in Southland in 2012 and a Hospital Administrator in Prized, a film short in 2014.

Gigi Preston (uncredited)

'Dr. Shelby Lewis'

Can find no transcript for her.

Unsure of her role in this episode. She could have been in the ER or in the City Hall, amongst the many other doctors around the table.

Since Torchwood, Preston has played roles in film shorts, from Eve in Genesis: Adam & Eve in 2011, Isabel in Recalculating in 2012 and Sally Mack in Ruse in the same year.

Played DJ Kitty in Steppers the High School Years in 2012 and played Mother in Hope for Love in 2013.

So, since Torchwood has played a Burly Man in The Finder in 2012, a Mechanic in Dexter in the same year and a Janitor in Justified a year later. He played a Security Guard in Bones and a Tractor Salesman in The Office in 2013. In Criminal Minds in the same year played Larry Feretich and Greys’ Anatomy played Carlos McAdams. In Workaholics played a Worker for 1 episode in 2015. Played Gunslinger 1 in Kittens in a Cage in the same year. In 2016 played Greg for 1 episode of Shameless US version, and Bruce in The Great Outdoors in 2017. His last credit to date was as Construction Worker in Arrested Development in 2019.
