Day Three is the
involvement of the Americans, in the shape of General Pierce played by Colin
McFarlane. With the knowledge of an alien species setting up camp in London,
and the government’s involvement at keeping Torchwood out of the picture, by
encasing Jack Harkness in a tomb of concrete, time is now devoted to the
politics of what the alien requires, and some interesting things come to light,
when the Americans discover that it isn’t the first time that this alien has
been on Earth.
Jack, now out of civvies
and back into his great coat and looking dashing once more, begin to find out
why Torchwood is out of the loop, and using young and recently employed Lois
Habiba, in finding out as much as she can about the alien in the penthouse
suite.
After seeing the
devastation in Cardiff, Alice, has fears for her Dad, and tries to make
contact. After coming up with zero results on his phone, calls the police, but
is reluctant to give her details, avoiding any trace. Unfortunately, Johnson’s
crowd have found her, and are about to bring her in…
Colin McFarlane
‘General Pierce’
'I
have been asked to convey, from the President of the United States, his
absolute fury. Is that understood? That landing wasn't spontaneous. It was
planned. It was prepared by you. And don't go calling this diplomacy, Mister
Green. You've established a court. The sovereign court of Great Britain, in
direct contradiction of the statutes of the United Nations.'
When the 456 arrived and
made its demands, the American military might, became quite vocal in their
response, especially when it was discovered that the 456 had been to Britain
before, and yet, they were unaware of it.
Colin McFarlane is no
stranger to the Whoniverse world, having been involved with Doctor Who for three

2019.
Simon Poland
‘456’ (voice)
'You
yielded in the past'
The deep and creepy voice
of the alien 456, that struck fear into parents everywhere, and in Clem McDonald,
as it sought him out telepathically, tying up all loose ends. (episode 4)
In a piece of trivia, in
Day Two of COE, Simon was credited as Simon Poland Poland for his voice of 456
character.
Since Torchwood, Poland
has played small single episode characters, for television programmes such as -
Factory Manager for Material Girl in 2010, Defence Barrister for Downton
Abbey in 2011, Ed Warburton in Critical in 2015, David's Client in Cold
Feet in 2016, Mark Rhodes for Doctors in 2017 and Gavin Coulter for Silent
Witness in part two only in 2019.
Anthony Debaeck
‘French Newsreader’
'Le
President a declare avoir ordonn la fermeture de nos coles. (look up full
speech)
Le
Parlement Europeen semble fige au regard de ces'
Anthony Debaeck is one of
those actors who has been in all three of the Whoniverse programmes.
In 2006 at the start of
his career, he played French Newsreader for Army of Ghosts. In 2008
played Newsreader for part 2 of Secrets of the Stars for SJA, and in 2
episodes of Torchwood: COE, plays again French Newsreader in 2009.

2006, Ozouf in 1066, in 2009, Jean-Luc in Clash of the Santas
film in 2008. After Torchwood played a Gypsy Driver in The Wolfman in

in Dragon Age II - Mark of the Assassin DLC in 2011.
In 2013, which appears his
last role to date, played a Waiter in Touch television series in 2013.
Lachele Carl
‘Trinity Wells’
'The
Senate have pointed out that we are now living in fear of our children. In fear
of what they will say next. In fear of who or what is speaking through them.'
Lachele Carl has been a
huge part of the Whoniverse in much the same way as Debaeck, regarding news reading.
But Carl's role also made it into audio stories, although not voiced by her,
her character is synonymous with Doctor Who and Torchwood although I am
surprised at not seeing her in Torchwood: Miracle Day!
Lachele Carl has voiced
many children's television shows as well as video games since the beginning of
her career.
Carl began her Whoniverse
career with Doctor Who from 2005 - 2010 for 9 episodes. Appearing in 2 (part 2)
episodes of SJA from 2007 - 2008, one titled as Trinity Wells, the other as
American Newsreader. In Torchwood, appeared only as Trinity Wells for Day 3
& 4 in 2009. Although it was Eve Myles who voiced her character at the time.
Lachele Carl is not just
that wonderful newsreader in Doctor Who. Carl also voices characters and
additional characters for video games, and children's television.
In 2009, voiced Muck for
the Bob the Builder: Roley's Flat Garden (US) version, having already
