Did you know on this day in 1964, Episode 1, of The Keys of Marinus - The Sea of Death was broadcast?  It was Season 1 and William Hartnell was the Doctor, with Carole Ann Ford, William Russell and Jacqueline Hill as his companions. 

It was written by Terry Nation and directed by John Gorrie.

On Marinus, a large computer called the Conscience kept law and order across the planet, it kept evil at bay. But when the Voord leader Yartek discovered how to overpower it, it was left to the Doctor and his crew to locate the four keys to take back the power from the Voords.


In 1970, Episode 4 of The Ambassadors of Death was broadcast. It was Season 7 and starred Jon Pertwee as the Doctor with Liz Shaw as his companion.  It also featured John Levene and Nicholas Courtney.
Writer was David Whitaker and Director Michael Ferguson.

U.N.I.T. and the Doctor investigate the disappearance of astronauts who have lost contact with Earth. 


In 2009, the 200th story – The Planet of the Dead was broadcast.  It starred David Tennant as the Doctor, with Lady Christina de Souza as his companion.  It also featured Lee Evans, Noma Dumezweni, Adam James, Paul Kasey and Ruari Mears.
Writers were Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts and Director was James Strong. 

To evade capture, Lady Christina jumps on the 200 bus – a London transport bus.  After the Doctor boards, things begin to hot up.  The bus in hot pursuit of the Police drives through the tunnel but as the gadget in the Doctor’s hand kicks into action, the bus heads through a wormhole onto a desert planet where the sun is high and something is flickering brightly in the distance – but coming closer, and closer, and closer.
