Did you know on this day in 1965, Season 2 of The Romans, episode 4 titled Inferno was broadcast? It starred William Hartnell as the Doctor with companions William Russell, Jacqueline Hill and Maureen O’Brien. Unlike previous this was more of a slapstick comedy episode.  Written by Dennis Spooner, directed by Christopher Barry and Music by Raymond Jones, the story saw our Doctor and companions in the first century of human civilisation in Italy where Ian and Barbara were caught by slave traders while the Doctor became friends with Nero, the emperor.



In 1971, Season 8, Episode 2, The Mind of Evil was broadcast.  Jon Pertwee was the Doctor with Katy Manning, Nicholas Courtney, John Leven and Richard Franklin as his companions, with Roger Delgado as The Master and Michael Sheard as Summers.
Director was Timothy Combe, writer Don Houghton and music by Dudley Simpson.

The Master as usual was up to his dastardly tricks had plans to destroy the peace conference by using prisoners to steal a missile containing nerve gas.


In 2008, Torchwood Season 2, Episode 4, Meat was broadcast. It starred John Barrowman, Gareth David Lloyd, Eve Myles, Naoko Mori and Burn Gorman with Kai Owen as Rhys Williams.

One of Harwood’s lorries has been involved in a fatal accident on the motorway and Rhys Williams discovers the truth about Torchwood and becomes part of the team in a mission to save the life of a large sentient alien creature.



Although you don’t celebrate your birthday with any Who or Torchwood cast, you do celebrate your birthday with many other celebrities, including Kevin Whately (Lewis) 62, Axl Rose (Guns n Roses) 51, Babe Ruth (1895 – 1948) and Bob Marley (1945 – 1981), Patrick MacNee (The Avengers) 91
