Happy Birthday Bryan Dick

Born on this day in 1978, in Denton Holme, Carlisle, England. 

Bryan is known to the many Torchwood fans as 'Adam', from Series 2, in 2007.  He’s had a very active career since 1992 in television, films, radio and theatre.  His many roles include playing a copper in ‘Blackpool’ – DC Blythe, a werewolf in ‘Blood and Chocolate’ to appearing as a cabin boy in Master & Commander.

Did you know that on this day in 1964 Season 1, Episode 7 of The Daleks – The Rescue was broadcast?  It starred the First Doctor and companions and the Tardis landing on Skaro, home of the Daleks and the beautiful Thals.

Also on this day in 1969, Season 6, Episode 2 of The Seeds of Death was broadcast.  It starred the 2nd Doctor, Patrick Troughton and companions Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot. The writer for this episode was Brian Hayles, Director was Michael Ferguson, Music by Dudley Simpson.

Ice Warriors have invaded a lunar transmat station with intentions of sending deadly seeds to Earth.


On this day also in 1975, Season 12, Episode 2, of The Ark in Space was broadcast.  It starred Tom Baker as the Doctor with Companions Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan.  Writer was Robert Holmes, Director Rodney Bennett, and Music by Dudley Simpson.

On the space station Nerva, the parasitic Wirrn had started to take over the last of the human race...

Also in 1982, Season 19, Episode 1 of Kinda was broadcast.  Peter Davison was the Doctor with companions Adric, Nyssa and Tegan Jovanka.  Writer for this story was Christopher Bailey, Director was Peter Grimwade and Music by Peter Howell.

In the lush forests of Deva Loka, the snakelike Mara has invaded Tegan’s mind.



You also celebrate your birthday with Lis Sladen who was born on this day in 1946. 

Lis played companion to the 3rd and 4th Doctor, making a return to the later Doctor’s 10th and 11th regenerations in both Who episodes and Sarah Jane Adventures before her death on 19th April 2011from cancer. She is forever missed.
