Who Reviews Forever Autumn by Simon Mallinson

Written by Mark Morris
Published by BBC Books
ISBN 978-1-8460-7270-3

It is almost Halloween in the sleepy New England town of Blackwood Falls. Leaves litter lawns and sidewalks, paper skeletons hang in the windows, and carved pumpkins leer from front porches.

The Doctor and Martha soon discover that something long-dormant has awoken, and this will be no ordinary Halloween. What is the secret of the ancient tree and the book discovered tangled in its roots? What rises from the churchyard at night, sealing the lips of the only witness? Why are the harmless trappings of Halloween suddenly taking on a creepy new life of their own?

As nightmarish creatures prowl the streets, the Doctor and Martha must battle to prevent both the townspeople and themselves from suffering a grisly fate. . .
Featuring the Doctor and Martha as played by David Tennant and Freema Agyeman in the hit series from BBC Television.

I have put the synopsis from the actual book, as the person who wrote it has done a great job of concise description.  From the start of this book which is always best read on a dark and moody autumn night, you will find yourself transported into this small New England Town.

Quickly the story sucks you in, and you find yourself screaming err please don't do that or that is going to hurt.  I have never really found myself so engrossed in a book until now.  Mark's portrayal of The Doctor and Martha is spookily accurate and visions of the TV series flashes between your eyes and you start hearing the voices.

The story doesn't skip on that horror vibe as well, which is very refreshing and you find yourself looking over your shoulder and hearing creaks and footsteps in the house.

I would advise everyone to read this story and jump and squeal with delight.  Thank you Mark in this book you have done wonders and it deserves to be read.
