The Coffee Shop Fan Art: Happy Halloween

It’s close to midnight, and something Weevil is lurking in the depths of the Hub, for tonight is the witching hour, the night of the dead, all Hallow’s Eve, and who knows what might knock at your door trick or treating!!!

We have some awesome artwork for you this month.

A welcome return to “Scaree Knight” and her hand drawn Torchwood team consisting of a gruesomely scary Captain Jack Harkness with his fly companions, proving that being immortal at Halloween doesn't necessarily mean your limbs will grow back.

Myfanwy knows how to scare the kids and save them from the demon dentist by eating the chocolate herself, so long as she doesn’t share it with Joshua.

And Ianto Jones, entering into the spirit of Halloween with  cute little tail and ears.  Hello Pussycat, Meowww!

The Doctor has his hands full when he visits the Witch’s shop.  Love those mini pumpkins, “Agony Antje”, and look out for that giant bat!

“Lyving Chaos” immortalises the long lost Torchwood team on this Halloween night, with a poem from the crypt.

Captain Jack’s equally scary Nostrovite snappy snarly approach in the ‘Screaming At the Moon’ fan art designed by our very own “Kira Pumpkin” has me shaking in my shoes.

And “Devil’s Droid” artwork ‘Beware of the Captain’ from ‘Adam’ episode has been given a truly brilliant make over for this Hallows Eve.  As Jack surveys the dead, are these people he’s killed after a vampire attack or is there something far more sinister at work here?

With thanks to all contributors to the Fan Art this month, and to find out who they are, check out the tags below.

The Coffee Shop Fan Art

Suzie Costello

Once again it became impossible to locate a lot of interesting fan art of Suzie Costello, in the same way as it was difficult locating interesting fan art of Toshiko Sato.  So it was left again to random searches for artwork which was just that little bit different.  Although we located one Suzie, it was more comic than hand drawn artwork.  But it’s still interesting.  Along our search we also located some Jack and Ianto hand drawn art which I love, and some team Torchwood.

We also have more artwork from our lovely Kenzie who not only drew Ianto with the Risen Mitten but also drew a Christmas theme piece which we’ve been torn where to put this year.  I think we’ll keep it here, so we have some festive decoration in The Coffee Shop.

So first up Suzie Costello.

http://nuriwan.deviantart.com/art/Suzie-Costello-74925838 Nuriwan comes from Barcelona Spain (not the planet)

From Torchwood to Who to The Hobbit, Nuriwan is an excellent artist, capturing not only comical behaviour but also beautiful portraits of the characters in the film, including a brilliant portrait of Gandalf.

Her artwork of Suzie is very much a cartoon, as are all her TW and Who characters.

Our next artist drew the Jack and Ianto piece which I love including her other works on her site.  Again unable to contact either artist over their work, to learn a little more about them, this artist has captured the look of love between the two men beautifully.

Pennysstuff has an obsession/fan worship of Ianto Jones/Gareth David Lloyd and its obvious when you look through the Wordpress website.  Her artwork is fantastic.

Kenzie’s work as always has a passion all of its own, it is beautifully drawn and captures such expression that you can hear them talking.  We always love seeing Kenzie’s artwork on our site.

The Coffee Shop Fan Art

This month’s fan art was initially based upon Greeks Bearing Gifts and Toshiko Sato, but searching on the internet didn’t turn up many pieces of artwork that weren’t in some way leaning towards Anime, and often didn’t really cover Toshiko as we know her in Torchwood.  However one particular drawing featured by artist atlantiss505 captured my eye, the bold and striking black and white sketch of our tech wizard, Toshiko, was almost flawless by design.  Such attention to detail, and although I’m no art buff I know what I like, and this artist covered every basis and ticked every box.

On her deviant art page you can also view her other designs, they are very impressive, I especially love the Ianto Jones drawing.

Going with the non-themed Fan Art we received more sketches by our young artist Mackenzie Hagerman.  Mackenzie is 15 years of age, a huge fan of both Doctor Who and Torchwood and also professes to be a Tom Hiddleston fan girl.  She is neurologically atypical, having ADHD and mild autism. Her favourite artists are Jhonen Vasquez and Roman Dirge.

Last month Mackenzie produced for us at Halloween a pirate sketch of Captain Jack Harkness, and it was the way she captured the eyes in the drawing that I fell in love with.

This time Mackenzie treats us to her love of Doctor Who and a little bit of Jack Harkness, and again it’s the expressions upon the characters faces that you can imagine what they’re thinking.

The eyes definitely have it!

If you have a piece of Torchwood or Who artwork that you'd like to share with us, then please contact us by email, Twitter, and/or Facebook.

The Coffee Shop FanArt Happy Hallowe'en

As ever we’re wanting fans to promote their artwork on our website.  It can be hand-drawn or created using software on your computer.

Captain Jack sporting an eye patch in good old pirate style, waving a sword, but also keeping firm hold of the Webley with candies on the ground and firmly within the flavour of the month.

This drawing is brought to you by Kenzie who starts off our month perfectly! This is the first time Kenzie has ever produced work for a website so we feel really honoured that she chose to share with us.

Contact us in the usual fashion and look forward to seeing your FanArt next month!
