Season 2 Episode 11 – Adrift

This episode for me was a sad episode where I felt for the families and friends of people who have been taken away from us be it illness or death.  Yes in Torchwood it was due to the Rift taking these people and then they return falling through the Rift. It had me thinking, if that happened to someone I loved, would I want to see them again in a state that I may not recognise them or be older etc.  This episode pulls on your heartstrings.

Torchwood Locations Guide
Season 2 – Episode 4 – Meat

By John Bond-Winstone (a.k.a. The Doctor)

Well I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break my little humans.  I was kind enough this year to give our dear Captain a little present and turn on his Vortex Manipulator for 24 hours so that he can have some fun travelling around and hopefully with the aim of him not bugging me…. To my avail I was wrong… He managed to get the thing linked to my TARDIS somehow... Pesky Boy…

Season 2 – Episode 3 – To The Last Man

By John Bond-Winstone a.k.a. The Doctor

Well I know I have been a bit quiet lately.  As always real life gets in the way and having to work long shifts to keep the money coming in so unfortunately my Locations Guide had to take a bit of a back seat and I am already in trouble with that pesky Jack because I missed this month’s deadline.  I will submit this season’s 1st and 2nd episode, at a later date.

Doctor Who Season 3 Episodes: Utopia, The Sound of Drums and Last of the Timelords

By John Bond-Winstone (a.k.a The Doctor)

I know, I know that I have missed three editions of Project: Torchwood.  Unfortunately work and life got in the way and also moving house with no internet connection for a very long month.  So I was pardoned by Jack and Joshua to delay this edition of the Locations Guide.  So we are covering the 3 last episodes of the New Doctor Who Era, Season 3 that has a tie in with Torchwood.  These 3 episodes are actually one of my favourite from the whole series, so I am glad to be able to cover this in my location guide. Also you may notice that I am now using my new surname that sounds very befitting for the Doctor’s human name.  Well enough about me.  Let’s get into this.

Captain Jack Harkness & End of Days

Season 1 Episode 12 & 13
By John Bond (a.k.a The Doctor)

Hi Everyone, I am so sorry that I had to miss writing my article for the last edition.  This is because I was busy planning my nuptials and doing my course work... had to be a good little boy.  So as we know these are the last two episodes of season 1.  This is a 2 parter so I got out of Jack's wrath as I can put the two articles together.

So here we go with the locations!!!

Locations Guide – Combat

By John Bond (a.k.a. The Doctor)

Well hello there my location groupies.  I hope you have been enjoying this edition of Project: Torchwood.  This month’s guide is going to be a short and sweet one as there are only two locations to show you.  This episode is one of my favourite episodes as it shows a dark side to the human nature.  We all know that this episode is focused around a Fight Club where Weevils are being stolen and used for gambling pleasure.  I won’t go into detail as I would be taking Jack’s job away from him.  So lets get down to the nitty gritty.

Episode 8 Location Guide – They keep killing Suzie!
By John Bond (The Doctor)

Well I hope you are all having a fantastic Christmas, Holiday etc. and that the food has been good and the alcohol even better.  As you know this episode, Suzie makes a comeback.  I will not spoil the episode description in this just in case Jack feeds me to Joshua.  Also this episode was mostly filmed in the studio and only one location was used, so this article will be short and sweet.

Season 1 Episode 6 - Countrycide
Locations Guide
By John Bond a.k.a The Doctor

Hi all and welcome to the new edition of Project: Torchwood.  I hope you have been enjoying the content and now you are on my regular feature, the Locations Guide.  This episode takes you away from the hustle and bustle of urban life in South Wales and takes you out into the countryside into the breath taking Brecon Beacons National Park.  This area has a wide range of things to do from climbing to the top of Pen-Y-Fan Mountain (Biggest Mountain in Southern Britain) or if you wanted to explore the underground then why not book a caving trip and go for a wander through Porth-yr-Ogof Cave.

Location Guide Season 1 Episode 5 – Small Worlds

Well it is that time of the month again where we give you the lowdown on the locations used within the episode.  Unlike the last edition I have a couple more locations to write about this time.  In this episode we will be focusing on 3 different areas Penarth, Radyr and Cardiff City Centre.  By now you have read the articles on the fairies and there are 2 locations which we could not find the location for.  So if you wanted to go Fairy hunting in those woods I am sorry.  Due to some residential locations, I have decided not to give out the actual location, but just street names for privacy reasons.

The Doctor Signing Off.

The Paget Rooms, Victoria Road, Penarth CF64 3EG

This location is used for the scene of Estelle’s talk.  The Paget Rooms is a very old theatre situated in the heart of Penarth Town Centre. The Paget Rooms, built in the early part of the 20th century and now a Grade II listed building, came into public ownership in 1949 when the former Penarth U.D.C. took over

Torchwood Locations Guide – Season 1 Episode 4
Cyberwoman

By John Bond (The Doctor)

Well hello again to the readers.  This issue focuses on the episode of the Cyberwoman.  I won’t bore you with what the episode is about as that’s what the rest of this issue is going to be doing.  As 99% of the episode is filmed at the Torchwood Hub (on set), there are only a couple of locations used.  These are Tredegar House and Mermaid Quay.

Tredegar House, Newport, South Wales NP10 8YW

The Cellar in Tredegar House was used as the location for the Cyber Conversion Chamber in which Ianto’s Girlfriend Lisa was held.  Tredegar House has appeared in another episode so if you want to leave a guess to which one then please leave a comment below as I am not going to give spoilers.  Tredegar House has also made appearances in many episodes of Doctor Who as well.

Ghost Machine takes place in a few areas of Cardiff.  In the episode we are to believe that one of these areas is Butetown but in reality it is in Adamsdown and Splott.

In the very opening of the episode Gwen and Owen are chasing what is to be believed as an Alien. They chase this Alien along Queen Street and head towards the High Street Arcade.  High Street Arcade is located just opposite Cardiff Castle and has 3 entrances. 1 on Castle Street, 1 on St Mary Street and the other on Church Street, which they use as the entrance for Gwen to slide under the shutters.  High Street Arcade houses many small boutiques, which includes a Joke Shop, Eccentric

Locations Guide (Season 1, Episode 1 ‘Everything Changes’)
by John Bond a.k.a The Doctor

Hi you all….

Well here is my regular feature for Project: Torchwood.  As I am originally from Cardiff and I have a lot of knowledge of the places in Cardiff, I volunteered under the threat of extermination from the CREATOR (jokes) to write this on-going guide.  Every issue I will be writing the locations feature and will pick 3 or 4 locations for each episode and tell you how to get there.  Cardiff and the city centre has been going through major changes over the last decade or so, so some of the locations which will feature in this guide may or may not be still around.  As Cardiff is ever changing, I will try and update these locations to let you know what has changed.

So as this issue will be about Season 1 Episode 1 ‘Everything Changes’ we will focus on the main
